Concretions

My work explores the experiential qualities of form through both abstraction and everyday objects. I begin with a feeling, a gesture that I try to convey by creating sculptural forms in clay, then casting rubber molds to make multiples plaster pieces to create these abstract wall installations. Each piece is painted with layers of oil paint and wax to produce a translucent quality. This series has evolved into sculptures that allude to an organic and human maturation that conveys both the strength and vulnerability of this transformation.
