This work explores the experiential qualities of abstract organic form. The process begins with a feeling or a gesture that I strive to translate into sculptural forms. These sculptures allude to an organic and human maturation that conveys both the strength and vulnerability of the human condition.

Joan Mullen is an Adjunct Professor of Art at Bridgewater State University.
Joan Mullen received her BFA at The Maryland Institute, College of Art (MICA) and her MFA at Mason Gross School Of The Arts, Rutgers University.
